HISTORY

In 1995 a joint acquisition of Bingo Country by the Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown and the Island Shrine Club turned out to be a very positive development for both clubs and for the charities which ultimately benefit. Both Clubs were equal shareholders and the sole owners of Bingo Country.

Inside Kiwanis Bingo Country

The decision to buy a large operation like this took considerable courage on the part of both clubs. It required a substantial commitment in terms of both financial resources from both clubs and club members time in the planning and transition. A committee with members of the Kiwanis and Shrine clubs was formed to oversee the process. Many long hours were put in by these members, all of whom volunteer their time and efforts. In 2015 an agreement was reached for the Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown to purchase 100% of the business. Currently Kiwanis Bingo Country houses the Club’s meeting room.

Significant renovations to the building have been recently completed to provide bingo players a more convenient and enjoyable environment. New road signage, upgraded washrooms, improved handicapped access, along with new flooring, tables, chairs and brand new lighting to reduce glare with new LED panels installed. They give off a nice warmer softer light! We’re continuously updating to make your bingo playing more enjoyable.
